Great Orme Kashmiri goats that live in Conwy North, Wales like to eat elder, gorse, hawthorn, bracken, bramble, ivy, stinging nettles and privet. Most goats are quite picky eaters and enjoy grazing on the tips of woody shrubs and trees.

Sheep and even Angora goats can produce about 10 pounds of wool from a shearing, but the Cashmere goat grows its fiber only once a year, during the motling season, when the goat would naturally shed it's coat. It takes about a week to comb out by hand, yielding only about 4 ounces of cashmere down, and it takes about 10 ounces to make one womens single-ply sweater.

So the answer is about 4 ounces per year, not even half a sweater - this of course is why Cashmere is so expensive!
